Manifest Hope:DC is this weekend
LOTS of inaugural activities happening this weekend and through Tuesday. I hope you will put on your agenda Manifest Hope:DC, an art exhibit whose purpose is to engage visual artists in social change through art.
Art plays a pivotal role in creating cultural momentum. The MANIFEST HOPE: DC Gallery celebrates that role and shines a spotlight on artists who use their voices to amplify and motivate the grassroots movement that carried President-Elect Barack Obama to victory. All the art will be for sale and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the Duke Ellington School. Well over 100 works will be available from artists across the country as well as many DC-based artists. The show is also being managed by DC gallery Irvine Contemporary.

We're hanging a Sam Flores in the top pic - the bottom is obviously a Mark Jenkins piece that's been attracting a lot of attention.
We're hanging some big stuff today and tomorrow and two artists are doing installation pieces.
