Hirshhorn after hours
A performance art musical duo entertained the huge crowd at Friday's Hirshhorn After Hours. We had to wear 3-D glasses to watch the accompanying video. The screen was a little small so I don't think I got the full effect from where I was standing. It was much more amusing to watch the on-stage antics and of course the spectacle of spectators.
Peter Burr and Christopher Doulgeris, aka Hooliganship, have been called Portland’s “neon-clad archangels of hyper-digitized cell phone music.” Prepare to embark on a dizzying 3D adventure, combining a grunge rock inspired, live-action dance off with freak-out animations for a sensory overload multimedia party.
When we arrived around 9ish, a line was wrapped around the block waiting to get in. Holy smokes! Those folks at the Hirshhorn have hit on something. Maybe we're all a little weary of just hanging out in bars.
Thanks Design Cult for sending me these images. I always forget my stupid camera when I go to these things, which makes no sense considering this blog is pretty visual. Oh well. Please go to Design Cult for more pictures from the event.
