Dance reinterpreted
I was hashing things out with dance professor Kate Mattingly about an all-white team winning a recent major step dance competition, and then right after that we went to see a reinterpretation of Yinka Shonibare's exhibit at the African Art Museum by two young dancers from the Washington Ballet and by Holly Bass Perform...ance Projects in a work called "African Futures:DC". Yeah, the Step show was a huge deal. I'm from Arkansas, and that's all that everyone is talking about there because it was the University of Arkansas ZTA chapter that "won." I didn't know it was being brought to light nationally, so thanks for posting this!
