The Pink Line Project announces an excellent new project to support the production of a video of Kate McGraw and Ann Tarantino installing their newest installation Workbook at the Gallery at Flashpoint. Installation begins today and the exhibit opens on Thursday, March 19.

More info about the project at We Draw.

The Daily Candy likes this idea too!

Financial support for the production of the video will be provided by the sale of prints hand-marked by the artists.

By purchasing unique prints, buyers have an opportunity to become art patrons who foster the careers of emerging artists.

Support the project by buying a print here:

Each 7 ½ x 7 ½ inch print will be hand-marked and embellished by Ann and Kate and hand-stamped with a signature seal created by the artists. Each unique piece will be printed on 300 gsm, 100% cotton Crane Museo Portfolio Rag paper.

Patrons who purchase prints by March 24, 2009 will be listed in the video. All patrons will be invited to a special launch event on March 28, 2009 at Flashpoint.

The video documents the ten days the artists spent creating the wall drawing. It records the artists’ physical and creative work, using techniques both planned and improvised, as they engage in a mark-making exchange running the entire length of the gallery walls. The final, mammoth artwork stretches across the gallery like a book waiting to be read and experienced by the audience. The documentary film is projected on the wall near the exhibition entrance, and serves as an intimate record of the artistic process. Workbook gives viewers insight into the process of creation, making public the most intimate of moments between collaborators—hidden gestures, unscripted moments, silent contemplation, discussion, agreement, disagreement, defeat and celebration. In the end, the video will remain the only evidence of Workbook as an installation, after the gallery walls are painted over, transforming once again into blank surfaces.

Love this brilliant idea! Can I promote to my big list of over 3000?

Also, I just bought 3 prints. I assume each will be different, right?
